Welcome to ARKANSAS
The Natural State

Welcome to Arkansas, the Natural State. For some it’s as simple as pitching a tent beside a mountain stream for others it’s a hike along a state park trail or a rugged trail ride aboard a mountain bike. The sport fishing season never closes in Arkansas and fishing is great year round. From the bayous and Ox/Bow of the Delta to the mountain streams and deep blue reservoirs of the Ozarks and Ouachitas, there’s a species of fish for every angler. Residents and visitors alike revere Arkansas’ fresh water.

Only one other state in the nation has more registered boats per capita. With over 600,000 acres of lakes and 9700 miles of streams and rivers there’s plenty of room to enjoy a multitude of water sports and a smorgasbord of great fishing. The state parks of Arkansas are gems showcasing the rich natural and cultural diversity of the Natural State.

We thank you for choosing Arkansas Travel Guide to plan your next vacation, and hope that your time spent in Arkansas is both enjoyable and refreshing.
