Welcome to MICHIGAN
The Great Lakes State

Welcome to Michigan, The Great Lakes State. Surrounded by four of the five Great Lakes and with more than 11,000 inland lakes and 36,000 miles of rivers and streams, Michigan has a lot to offer the outdoor enthusiast. From boating to fishing to spectacular beaches you will find plenty of outdoor entertainment. In autumn, you will find mile after mile of color-draped trees and enjoy the fruits of the harvest.

There are farmers markets, you-pick orchards and cider mills. There are excellent conditions in the wintertime for skiers, snowboarders, snowmobiles and other winter sports activists. We have 43 downhill ski areas, nearly 180 cross-country ski areas and more than 4,000 miles of snowmobile trails. There are also a variety of cultural activities. From symphony orchestras, theatrical productions, and museum exhibits to ethnic festivals and special community events if culture is what you want you will find it here. Come visit us in Michigan for the classic American vacation.

We thank you for choosing Michigan Travel Guide to plan your next vacation, and hope that your time spent in Michigan is both enjoyable and refreshing.
