Welcome to TEXAS
The Lone Star State

Welcome to Texas, The Lone Star State. There are many things to do in Texas, from museums and historical sites to rafting on the rivers. Many of our historical sites are dedicated to the state’s Spanish heritage and Texans’ fight for independence from Mexico. Visit the San Jose Mission, the Alamo, San Jacinto Battleground Park, and Fort Davis National Historic Site. There is also a log-cabin community restored in Pioneer Village. We have the only theater building designed by architect Frank Lloyd Wright in Dallas, the John F. Kennedy Memorial, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and the Houston Ballet Company if a little culture is what you are looking for. Outdoor activities include swimming, boating, fishing, hiking, camping, hunting and golfing. We have many major league professional sports teams including the Dallas Cowboys, Houston Rockets and the San Antonio Spurs. The Cotton Bowl is held every year in Dallas. Come visit us in Texas and let us show you all about the Lone Star State.

We thank you for choosing Texas Travel Guide to plan your next vacation, and hope that your time spent in Texas is both enjoyable and refreshing.
